The Mitsubishi Montero Sport began production in 1996 and ended production in 2008. The car was assembled in Nagoya, Japan. It is a five door wagon with a V6 engine and an option of front or four-wheel drive. It offered a choice between either a four or five-speed transmission, which came in automatic, semi-automatic and manual.
Its career on the large and small screen has varied greatly. Mostly used as a background vehicle it has had a handful of starring roles. One such role was in the 2000 low budget horror film Dead 7; another came in a season one episode of the SyFy Channel original series Tremors, based on the film franchise of the same name. In the tenth episode it in a scene where two road workers are eaten alive by genetically spliced flesh-eating bugs. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport appears again in the climax of the episode.
