Looking appeal to less affluent and younger buyers, Saab have taken the easy way out with 9-2x by making the badge engineered approach. The ‘x’ in Saab 9-2X indicates the standard all-wheel drive system, which is the core feature of the donor vehicle. The differentiating feature of Saab 9-2x is the softened exterior lines with ideal rear and front styling along with all-season tires and alloy wheels. The 9-2x comes available as Aero and 2.5 trim levels, with its former having a naturally aspirated 165 hp flat four, 2.5 l and latter with intercooler 227 hp flat four, 2.0l from Subaru Wrx. Both the trims are fitted with standard five-speed manual transmissions and with optional four-speed automatic. As it is really a Subaru, 9-2x features all-wheel drive and also a viscous limited slip for the aero. The additional standard equipment includes four wheels independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS.
